Job Summary
The Child and Family Agency was established on 1st January 2014 and is responsible for a range of statutory functions including provision of child protection, alternative care, specified regulatory services and a range of family support services. The Agency has commenced a major improvement programme with significant focus on Practice, Culture and Structure.
The Agency currently has responsibility for a budget of circa €1.2billion and delivers its services through over 5,500 people in 259 locations across the Country.

•Alternative Care
•Birth Information & Tracing and Adoption
•Tusla Education Support Services (TESS)
•Children’s Service Regulation

About Tusla:
The Child and Family Agency was established on 1st January 2014 and is responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children. It represents the most comprehensive reform of services for the development, welfare and protection of children and the support of families ever undertaken in Ireland. It is an ambitious move which brings together some 5,000 staff who were previously employed within Children and Family Services of the Health Service Executive, the National Educational Welfare Board and the Family Support Agency.
Job Objectives
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants must by the closing date of application have the following:
The role requires an experienced BI & Data Analytics Lead with a strong technical background in an ICT environment. This role will help drive an integrated, end-to-end approach to data and reporting using the Microsoft analytics platform.
BI Dashboards and Report Deployment
•Lead the design and delivery of business intelligence dashboards and reports that support key organisational decisions.
•Develop intuitive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and visualisations aligned to business needs.
•Support the development of trusted, well-structured datasets and data models to ensure consistent and reliable reporting.
•Work across the full reporting lifecycle, including ETL processes, data flows, and data transformation.
•Contribute to the development and evolution of the organisation’s modern data platform (Microsoft Fabric).
•Optimise and tune SQL queries and data models to ensure strong performance and scalability.
•Support the deployment and release management of BI solutions in a controlled and reliable manner.
•Ensure reports and data solutions are accurate, performant, and easy to use.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical data solutions.
•Support the automation of data processes to ensure timely and up-to-date information.
Relationship Management and Collaboration
•Works as part of a data and analytics team to facilitate the delivery of Business Intelligence solutions in Tusla
•Works as part of the data team to facilitate the delivery of new data driven solutions being developed by Tusla ICT.
•Collaborate with teams on multiple projects
•Ability to independently manage multiple projects with competing priorities •Develop and update technical documentation
•Preparation of project related documentation, e.g. Project Plan, Risk Register, Issues Log, Project Structure, Requirements analysis
•Works in collaboration with the ICT service delivery team as required to support the implementation and integration of ICT systems.
Resource Management
•Manage interactions with contractors and staff
•Interact with the different ICT teams to deliver data process maps.
Health & Safety
•Comply with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, guidelines and safe professional practice and adhere to relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
•Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the service for example National Standards for Child Protection and Care and comply with associated Tusla – Child and Family Agency protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role.
•To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.

Skills Requirement
Applicants must by the closing date of application have the following:
•Have a third level qualification in Computer Science, ICT, data analytics, or a related discipline
•Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Report Development role, including practical use of analytics methodologies, statistics, reporting and data visualisation, Power BI or MS Fabric
•Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MS Power BI, MS Fabric, Azure Data Services
•Proficient and experienced in scripting T-SQL and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
